West Michigan is facing an unprecedented lack of affordable housing due to scarce housing stock, options too distant from jobs and childcare, and home prices that are too high.

Meet Elizabeth

Elizabeth first applied for our program in early 2020 but was denied. In spite of
the denial, and in the face of having recently become a single parent, she was determined to work hard and find the new stability and safety her and her two kids desperately needed.

With the support of community partners, she was able to find and maintain a good paying job, establish good credit and start a savings account. Elizabeth reapplied and was accepted into our program a year later.

We are incredibly excited about partnering with her family in building them a home that will allow them to thrive in a way they could not have imagined only a year ago.

Since 1990, Lakeshore Habitat has been serving families in Ottawa and parts of Allegan County through our affordable home building and repair ministry. Our vision is a community where everyone has a decent place to live, so we are working hard to increase our capacity.

Introducing . . . the Vista Green Development

We have partnered with Jubilee Ministries and have jointly secured property on 36th Street in Holland on which we will develop a mixed-income community of 42 affordable units.

House Amount Graphic-02.png

With God's blessing, we hit our initial goal! As of May 2022, we've received a total of 406 donations!

Asset 7_2x.png

Total philanthropic amount still needed:

$400,000

Total philanthropic amount raised so far:

$2,400,000

We're so close! Help us complete Vista Green and provide affordable homeownership to the 18 local habitat families who will call Vista Green home.

*Initially $2.4 million, we have had to increase our goal to $2.8 million to account for the rising costs of materials and labor.
